During Lauren's internship, she visited over 25 Head Start Centers in the Harrisburg area from May 14th to June 1st. At each location, she read age-appropriate books and sang songs, such as nursery rhymes with the children. Additionally, she visited one first grade class and one fifth grade class at Foose Elementary. Lauren did a great job interacting with the students and encouraging them to continue to read.
Lauren is very polite and intelligent. She was an instant success and received high praises from the teachers of each school she visited. She connected with the students from the time she was introduced. She also took initiative to select books from the library and book stores to share with the students.
Lauren received numerous awards at her graduation from Harrisburg Academy, to include the “Internship of the Year Award.” Congratulations Lauren! She will be furthering her education at college in the fall and we wish her well!!
