The 500 Men Reading Week Central Dauphin

The 500 Men Reading Event in the Central Dauphin School District will be held on Wednesday, March 4. During the day of the reading, each reader will spend about 25 minutes with three different groups of students.  While in the classroom, readers will share a couple of books, talk about what they do for a living, and encourage the students to do well in school.  Men are encouraged to bring their own books based on their assigned grade(s). Stories that address character development such as honesty, kindness, sharing and acceptance, as well as, ones that are entertaining should be chosen.

The 500 Men Reading Week – Fink Elementary

The 500 Men Reading Event at the Middletown Area School will be held on Thursday, March 5. During the day of the reading, each reader will spend time reading to students.  While in the classroom, readers will share a couple of books, talk about what they do for a living, and encourage the students to do well in school. 

The reading will be held at Lyall J. Fink Elementary School 150 North Race Street, Middletown, Pennsylvania. Please fill out the form below to register by February 19.

New this year – Fathers Reading Event – If you don’t live in the Harrisburg area and would like to participate in the 500 Men Reading Event, please fill out the form below. No matter where you are across the country, you can sign up to participate. Just tell us where and when you are reading during the week of March 2nd thru March 7.

Please contact the school at which you are interesting in reading to confirm that you can read to students during the week of March 2 thru 7 before filling out the registration form below. You and school can determine how many classrooms you visit and what grades. You can bring your own book(s) or ask the teachers to choose. Please fill out the form below to register by February 15. Below is a sample of what your visit could look like.

While in the classroom, readers will share a couple of books, talk about what they do for a living, and encourage the students to do well in school. Men are encouraged to bring their own books based on their assigned grade(s).
