The 500 Men Reading Week – Harrisburg
Information Sheet

The 500 Men Reading Event in the Harrisburg School District will be held on Tuesday, March 3. During the day of the reading, each reader will spend about 25 minutes with three different groups of students. While in the classroom, readers will share a couple of books, talk about what they do for a living, and encourage the students to do well in school. Men are encouraged to bring their own books based on their assigned grade(s).

Please report to Camp Curtin Elementary School Auditorium, 2900 N 6th St, Harrisburg, PA at 7:30 a.m. for breakfast, orientation, and group photo. Please fill out the form below to register by February 15.

Foose Elementary School received a grant from KaBOOM to build a brand new playground at the school.  Our part is to get hundreds volunteers to help assemble the equipment in one day.  You don’t need any specific skill sets like construction to help with this amazing effort.  Please sign up by using the form below.

Capital Area Head Start Registration

The 500 Men Reading Week – Capital Area Head Start
Information Sheet

The 500 Men Reading Event at Capital Area Head Start will be held on Tuesday, March 3. During the day of the reading, each reader will spend about 15 to 20 minutes with three different groups of students.

While in the classroom, readers will share a couple of books, talk about what they do for a living, and encourage the students to do well in school. Men are encouraged to bring their own books based on their assigned grade(s). Stories that address character development such as honesty, kindness, sharing and acceptance, as well as, ones that are entertaining should be chosen.

Please report to Camp Curtin Elementary School Auditorium, 2900 N 6th St, Harrisburg, PA at 7:30 a.m. for breakfast, orientation, group photo. Please fill out the form below to register by February 15.

Children and families are invited to a special 500 Men Reading event featuring gift bag to the first 25 children, free book for all children, mini storytimes, crafts and refreshments.
